Dear Families:
Busy times at Del Mar!
Last week's Winter Wonderland Middle School Dance was a huge success. Approximately 200 students attended and enjoyed their time dancing, visiting with friends, playing ping-pong, getting photo booth pictures, watching a movie, and eating snacks. Thank you to: Ms. Chase's leadership class for planning and organizing, parent and staff chaperones for supervision, and students for their festive and appropriate school dance behavior!
Lunchtime activities: There are a variety of lunchtime advisory competitions and clubs that provide students with many ways to pursue interests and participate at school. Clubs include: Garden, Lego, SAT, Anime, Magic, Math, TEA (diversity), and two student-led Science and Newspaper.
Students are reminded of club meeting days through the Morning Bulletin. Ask your child for their password so you can view the first edition of the Dragon Tribune (student newspaper):
dragontribune.weebly.com. Additionally, peer tutors work during lunch and during Wednesday advisory periods and after school basketball season is underway.
Winter Concerts: All are invited to next week's concert series. Del Mar's guitar class will perform on Monday, Orchestra/Instrumental Band on Wednesday, and Steel Band on Thursday. All concerts begin at 6:30pm in the school Concert Hall (gymnasium).
