    In response to recent catastrophic wildfires in our region, PG&E has implemented a Public Safety Power Shutoff program aimed at preventing future wildfires and likely resulting in multi-day power outages affecting thousands of residents, businesses and public agencies. Public Safety Power Shutoffs will cause major disruption to the entire community impacting basic services including communications and transportation. There is also the potential for isolated or widespread school closures during multi-day power outages.

    As we continue our important work in equity and inclusion this year, I will be incorporating a section titled Equity Resources for Families in each of my Newsletters that you receive twice per month.  I will include resources teachers are using for discussions in their meetings as well resources used for students lessons. Feel free to use these great tools at home with your family. Our mission is to ensure that everyone feels they are valued for who they are and they are an important part of our community.

    Welcome to the 2019/2020 school year! RUSD staff is back from Summer break and getting classrooms ready to receive students. The annual District Welcome Back staff event was held on Monday, where the District focus on equity and inclusion was renewed and embraced by all. As stated in our Diversity and Inclusion Statement:
