Our Del Mar Robotics Team continues to inspire and thrill us all. The team participated in the NORCAL FTC Championship Robot Tournament. Out of the 48 teams that attended the competition, The Bearded Dragons secured an impressive 9th place, showcasing their incredible talent and dedication. They reached all the way to 5th place before facing the 1st place team where they barely lost. What makes this accomplishment even more remarkable is that Del Mar was one of only three middle school teams invited to compete in this challenging tournament. A big thanks goes out to the Foundation, Del Mar administration, Mr. MacDonald, parents, and students! Way to represent Reed with class and pride!Wednesday, February 7, 2024
We have more to celebrate! Congratulations to our Del Mar Mathletes! The team competes against sixteen other middle schools where they solve "fun" math problems both individually and as a team. Shout out to the 7th grade team that came in first place and second place in the first two competitions this year. This is a beautiful example of students, staff, and parents joining together to do great things. We are even stronger together!

Reminder: Class 3 E-bikes & E-Scooters - Thank you for the great cooperation in eliminating Class 3 e-bikes and all e-scooters from school grounds. Since these require a driver’s license, we will not allow students to use these two types of vehicles while on campus.Friday, December 22, 2023
As the final bell rings for Winter Break, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication throughout the year. Savor the precious moments with your children and family. Staff will also take the time to rest and rejuvenate. Together, we will continue to create a remarkable learning experience for our students, making RUSD a place where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired.

Reminder: Class 3 E-bikes & E-Scooters - Since class 3 e-bikes and e-scooters require a driver’s license, we will not allow students to use these two types of vehicles on school grounds. We will begin enforcing this on Tuesday, January 9th as students return from Winter Break. Hopefully, this gives families a reasonable chance to make adjustments, if needed. It’s also a reminder not to purchase these vehicles for school use. Thanks for your cooperation.

I'd like to share this important video regarding e-bikes and e-scooters. While they are popular, exciting, and environmentally friendly, we also need to think about safety, legality, and courtesy. Great information was provided by our Middle School Principal, Chad Stuart and our community partners Tiburon Chief of Police, Michelle Jean and Belvedere Chief of Police, Jason Wu. Let's work together to keep all 3 of our communities and students safe!

Reminder: On Monday, November 6th, a 90-minute evening brainstorming session will be held in Del Mar's Gym from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. This is an excellent opportunity to brainstorm innovative ideas for RUSD's future. Attached are a couple of thought-provoking articles to help us dream big. I don't necessarily agree with every point made in these articles. The goal is to make us wonder, dream, and consider future possibilities. I'm hoping to see you there.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly evolving and transforming industries, and it is imperative that our education system stays ahead of the curve to maximize the benefits of AI while safeguarding the welfare of our staff and students. I was honored to be 1 of 23 educators appointed to serve on a state level Artificial Intelligence (AI) Task Force. The AI Taskforce is aimed at equipping school districts with the necessary knowledge and tools to navigate the complexities of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the work of public-school districts and county offices of education. I’m honored to serve for the benefit of RUSD and beyond.

What an incredible start to the school year. Thank you to the staff, students, and families for all contributing to this beginning. I also want to send a big thank you to our PTA and parents that offered a variety of opportunities to welcome our new families to RUSD. Whether it was a play time at Reed, a popsicle party in East Corte Madera, a family gathering, or a party at the park, all of it makes a difference. This is such a beautiful example of our welcoming community and our goal of inclusion. “We are even stronger together.” Thank you!
