Dr. Kimberly McGrath
Superintendent, RUSD
Dr. Kimberly McGrath became Superintendent of Reed Union School District on July 1, 2021. She comes to Reed with 25 years of experience in public education. Dr. McGrath earned her bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of Texas. She started her educational career as an elementary teacher and was a state finalist for Teacher of the Year. Dr. McGrath then earned her master’s degree in Educational Leadership, and served as an elementary assistant principal, an elementary principal, and a high school assistant principal. Her career then led her to serve in the district office as the Director of Technology and Secondary Education. In 2015, she served as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for San Luis Coastal Unified School District. In 2022, she earned her doctorate in Organizational Leadership where she completed a phenomenological study on the benefits and detriments of parcel taxes.
Dr. McGrath is a visionary leader. She is a dedicated instructional leader committed to excellence. Her commitment of implementing research-based practices to help students reach their maximum potential was recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education with an invitation to the Research-to-Practice Summit in Washington, DC. Her career reflects a passion for high expectations and accelerating students to reach their maximum potential.
