    Dear Del Mar Community,

At the beginning of the year I shared with the students what I believe it means to be a member of our school community. I asked our students to Be Involved - in our classroom, school and community. I reminded them to Be Kind - to themselves and to others. I challenged them to Be Brave - to take risks and be comfortable with mistakes, to stand up for what they believe in and to act when they see something that is not right. Finally, I asked that they Be Open, to new ideas, new people and to the struggles that come with learning.

With six weeks of school left, what it means to be a Dragon has not changed. In fact, it is this time of the school year that challenges us and requires us all to resemble and represent these qualities even more. It is never too late to be involved, kind, brave and open! Please support your students in finishing the year off with their best effort and with integrity.

     A couple quick reminders:

     Lunchtime clean up

Garbage left in eating areas continues to be a problem amongst our student body. As our staff is working with students to clean up after themselves, I would appreciate parents reminding their children to do the same and treat this campus with respect.

Drop Off/Pick Up - Student Safety

I want to remind all adults responsible for dropping off and/or picking up our children, to be mindful of how you drive around our campus. Remember, the parking lot off of Avenida Miraflores is for Staff Only. You will notice moving forward we've increased our signage to help remind everyone. Please do drop off and pick up students on Avenida Miraflores. This street is the safest for both student pedestrians and drivers in the mornings and afternoons. If you must drop off on Hilary Drive please drive slowly and drop off students on the side of the street our school is on, so our students do not have to cross the street.

    Thank you,

    Brian Lynch, Principal

May 22nd, 7-9pm, Del Mar Gym

    parents only please

Recently some RUSD parents have raised their hands looking for guidance and support in parenting in the internet age.  In partnership with these parents, RUSD presents "ScreenAgers", an award winning film that probes into the family struggles over social media, video games and academics.  After the film, Del Mar school psychologist Dr. Kover will moderate a panel of 8th graders who will share their digital words of wisdom for parents of younger children.  In other school districts, ScreenAgers has sold out.
