    Professional Development Introduction

The Reed Union School District utilizes a professional learning community structure to organize teachers to collaborate and learn together.    In addition to four annual teacher professional workdays where students do not attend school, each site releases students one hour early on Wednesday afternoons to provide time for teachers to develop and work collaboratively on instructional planning.

The District Superintendent working with site administrators is responsible for ensuring teachers and support staff are continuously evaluated and developing instructional expertise. RUSD has a reputation for investing in the development and support of teachers.
