James Sievert and Sarah Weller are the Physical Education team at Bel Aire Elementary. Our program is supported by the Foundation for Reed Schools.

James Sievert

Mr. Sievert is a credentialed PE teacher who is passionate about both health and character building. 

Prior to teaching PE James worked as the lead instructor for the Marin County Safe Routes to Schools program. During this time James authored and implemented a curriculum about bike and pedestrian safety, the benefits of active lifestyle, and the environmental impacts of transportation. He's certified as a cycling instructor, bicycle mechanic, and expert (CAT 1) mountain bike racer.

Outside of school James can be found hiking, running, or riding a bicycle through the beautiful nature of Marin County. Often his partner and son will join him on these adventures.

Sarah Weller

Mrs. Weller is our PE aide. Sarah was a PE teacher at Coleman Elementary in San Rafael for 13 years.

Outside of school Sarah can be found on the trails and playing tennis. Her family includes her husband, son and dog.

Please remember to dress for activity on PE days, including appropriate shoes.
