2019-2020 BEL AIRE ARCHIVED NEWSLETTERS
March 16, 2020
I hope all Bel Aire families are safe, healthy, and adjusting to at-home learning and social distancing. At this time, families should have received an email from teachers with the RUSD At Home link (password is RUSD and case sensitive).March 13, 2020
As communicated by the district office, Reed Union School District will be closing school campuses to students for two weeks beginning Monday, March 16th, and resuming Monday, March 30th.March 4, 2020
There is a purposeful effort to streamline all communication from the district to minimize mixed messaging, around COVID-19 updates. Toward that end, I have no new content or additional information to share, but would like to synthesize content from the many recent messages for emphasis and clarity.February 12, 2020
I had promised a message about gratitude in January, but instead, shared resources for kindness (see January 15 and January 29 notes, and just in case you missed it, please consider checking out the Kindness Can Be Taught: Here’s How podcast).January 29, 2020
The Great Kindness Challenge week is one of my favorite events of the year, as our entire community makes a deliberate choice to focus on kindness! I’d like to acknowledge that I've provided a lot of resources in the message.January 15, 2020
Happy New Year, and welcome back! I hope all Bel Aire families are enjoying a peaceful start to 2020 and a smooth re-entry into school (and all those other responsibilities we sometimes pause during a long break).December 19, 2019
Thank you all for all you contribute to the well-being of Bel Aire School and staff. We appreciate all that you do: PTA chairs, Foundation staff and chairs, classroom volunteers, lunch and Lunch Bunch volunteers, Peter Pan volunteers, hospitality (thank you for all the treats!), everyone that smiles and says a friendly greeting, and anyone that contributes in any way to the care and keeping of the staff and students. You all contribute to the health, happiness, and sanity of our Bel Aire community.December 4, 2019
Welcome back from what I hope was a wonderful, week-long, holiday break replete with fun, loved ones, rest, and gratitude (more on gratitude in January). Incredibly, we have only 1 2 sch o o l d a ys l e ft in 2019! As we wrap up 2019, I’d like to revisit a couple items:November 20, 2019
Each school is seeking members of the RUSD community to serve as parent representatives on our Strategic Planning Collaborative (formerly School Site Council).November 6, 2019
Share Your Feedback... Thank you to all families who have already shared their thoughts and experiences in our 15 minute survey.October 23, 2019
I referenced empathy in the last newsletter, but would like to revisit it again. I joked with my staff, that at first, I really just needed a good ‘E’ word to complete my vision for the C.L.E.A.R. theme this year.October 9, 2019
Recalling that the ‘E’ in C.L.E.A.R. stands for empathy, I would like to encourage families to talk about Halloween costume choices - specifically, if a preferred costume depicts another's culture. In the past, we have asked students to avoid costumes with weapons or violence.September 25, 2019
This is an exciting week at Bel Aire, as we are participating in two powerful programs: Start with Hello Week and Character Day!September 11, 2019
All you need is a smile! Student proofs and online photo ordering information will be sent home by email approximately three weeks after the photo date. Make-up picture day is Oct. 23rd.September 3, 2019
We are thrilled to offer every Bel Aire fourth grader the opportunity to attend The Mosaic Project’s week- long Outdoor School Program.September 3, 2019
4th and 5th GRADERS: BEL AIRE MATH CLUB BEGINS SEPTEMBER 17TH.August 28, 2019
We have some great parent events in the next couple days, and I hope I will see you all this Thursday and Friday.
