District Facilities & Fields

The Reed Union School District has two departments that are totally committed to the job of providing and maintaining the best possible learning environment for our students:

Maintenance & Operations (M&O):
Under the leadership of the Director of M&O, this department includes a total of 12 staff members:

An Administrative Secretary to act as a communications focal point and assist the Director in the coordination of all Department activities.

Three (3) maintenance/grounds staff to respond to the needs of the three sites in terms of emergencies as well as preventative maintenance, repairs and small projects. They also assist in the school site openings as well as responding to the day-to-day school-in-session site needs.

Six (6) custodial staff (swing shift), divided into three two-member teams assigned to each of the three school sites.

A roving custodian, able to assist in morning school openings, as well as responding throughout the day to the cleanup/setup needs of all three sites.

These folks are professionals and are proud of the condition and appearance of the Reed, Bel Aire and Del Mar schools!

Facilities Modernization and Construction:
The Director of Facilities Modernization and Construction is responsible for the orchestration of all aspects of the District Facilities Master Plan Bond Program. Phase I of the Master Plan is approximately 75% complete and the final project of this phase (Bel Aire new construction) is expected to be finished in early 2006. An additional bond is being planned which would provide funds to complete the remaining Phase II & III projects and items at all three sites by the end of 2007.

The Bond modernization and construction program is exciting and on-going! Questions about the program or projects - leave a message on the Construction Hotline at (415) 388-7100, X3112 and your call will be promptly returned.
