About Reed Elementary
Reed School offers a nurturing climate for the primary age student. In addition to a full California standards based academic program, there is a school-wide focus on developmentally appropriate activities, positive reinforcement, and integration of technology and art into the curriculum.
Reed School serves the townships of Tiburon, Belvedere, and East Corte Madera. Reed School provides a common place of gathering for all three communities, reflecting small-town pride, an intense appreciation of and participation in our schools, and a tradition of generous support of public education.
At Reed, we provide a unique educational experience for the primary age student. We are committed to helping every child become a confident learner and a respectful, responsible citizen by nurturing, teaching, and inspiring each child to thrive in a challenging, dynamic world. We hope to develop in students a great love of learning and confidence in their uniqueness and potential. We involve students in a full range of learning activities to achieve academic excellence, critical thinking skills, and creative, personal and social responsibility. We work cooperatively with staff, parents, district administration and community members to create the best possible environment for our students and school community.
The Foundation for Reed Schools raises critical funds to support Art, Music, Technology, Library, and P.E. In order to meet the individual needs of our students diverse ability levels, there are also many programs with support personnel in place, including the resource specialist, reading specialist, speech pathologist, psychologist, as well as an instructional assistants in every classroom. Our Learning Center utilizes our reading specialist and our resource specialist to provide both short term and long-term intervention for students in language arts and math.
